Overview

The Manjushree Trail Race traces the rugged ridgelines that encircle the Kathmandu Valley, taking runners far beyond the city and into a landscape of forest trails, steep climbs, villages and exposed mountain viewpoints. Its flagship 100-mile course is regarded as Nepal’s first 100-miler, crossing seven major summits around the valley.

The race is relentlessly mountainous. Even the shorter distances pack in significant elevation, while the longer courses demand sustained climbing, technical trail running and careful pacing through day and night.

What makes Manjushree distinctive is its setting. One moment the trail overlooks the dense Kathmandu Valley; the next it disappears into quiet forests and hillside settlements that feel remarkably removed from the city below. It is a tough, uncompromising mountain race, where every climb leads deeper into the rugged landscape surrounding the valley.
